It\u2019s no fun. Your shopping campaigns stop getting traffic quite abruptly because no ads are showing up &#8211; and selling products with no ads is quite difficult.\u00a0 Bing is also notorious for taking \u201cseveral days\u201d (sometimes over a week in my experience) to \u201cramp up\u201d any traffic for a shopping campaign after an expired feed. In short, an expired feed can have a huge negative impact on you or your client\u2019s ecommerce.<\/p>\n<p>This may happen because you have a feed with several products where inventory doesn\u2019t change and there is not a daily or weekly refresh. Maybe someone forgot to manually refresh the feed.<\/p>\n<p>No matter the cause, you can use Google Sheets to get around this.<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t already have a feed set up using best practices and Bing\u2019s required fields, I\u2019ve listed some resources at the end of this post that will help \u2013 but let\u2019s not open that can of worms here.<\/p>\n<p>If you do already have a feed set up, this will be an easy step by step guide to setting up an auto upload of your shopping feed to Bing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Create a new Google Sheet in Google Drive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2:<\/strong> Copy and paste your existing feed into the new Google Sheet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> Publish your sheet to the web (Click File &gt; Publish to the web\u2026)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-8444\" src=\"https:\/\/rocketclicks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Bing-Auto-Feed-Step-3-162x300.png\" alt=\"bing-auto-feed-step-3\" width=\"162\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> Publish the sheet using the comma-separated values (.csv) filetype.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-8445\" src=\"https:\/\/rocketclicks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Bing-Auto-Feed-Step-4-300x192.png\" alt=\"bing-auto-feed-step-4\" width=\"300\" height=\"192\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 5:<\/strong> Once published, that same pop-up will give you a link to your newly published Feed that we will be able to use in Bing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-8446\" src=\"https:\/\/rocketclicks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Bing-Auto-Feed-Step-5-300x254.png\" alt=\"bing-auto-feed-step-5\" width=\"300\" height=\"254\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 6:<\/strong> In Bing Merchant Center, navigate to the \u201cCatalog management\u201d tab.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-8447\" src=\"https:\/\/rocketclicks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Bing-Auto-Feed-Step-6-300x27.png\" alt=\"bing-auto-feed-step-6\" width=\"300\" height=\"27\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 7:<\/strong> Either Select \u201cCreate Catalog\u201d if you do not have an existing catalog or click your current catalog.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 8:<\/strong> Below the catalog information section which asks for Catalog name and Location, you will find a section named \u201cCatalog feed file.\u201d\u00a0 Select the \u201cAutomatically download from URL\u201d option.Then, in the source URL box, paste the URL that Google provided in Step 5.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-8448\" src=\"https:\/\/rocketclicks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Bing-Auto-Feed-Step-8-300x72.png\" alt=\"bing-auto-feed-step-8\" width=\"300\" height=\"72\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 9:<\/strong> Hit Save.<\/p>\n<p>Once this is done, Bing will process the feed within 24 hours, but as mentioned above, it may take some time for traffic in your shopping campaign to \u201cramp up\u201d as Bing calls it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resources for Creating a Bing Feed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bingads.microsoft.com\/#apex\/3\/en\/51108\/1\">Bing Ads help for creating a feed<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bingads.microsoft.com\/#apex\/3\/en\/51110\/1\">Using a Google feed on Bing<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have you ever had a Bing shopping feed expire on you?
