In this post, I will explain where to find Merchant Promos, how to create them, and some additional essential hacks when it comes to creating them.<\/p>\n<h2>Where Do They Show Up?<\/h2>\n<p>Bing&#8217;s Merchant Promos appear within your product ad as a \u201cspecial offer\u201d link in the search results box. The required fields for the feed file are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>promotion _id: Unique identifiers for your promotion<\/li>\n<li>Product_applicability: Indicates if the promotion is for all products or for specific products<\/li>\n<li>Offer_type: Indicates if there is a promotion code or not<\/li>\n<li>Long_title: Your full title of the promotion<\/li>\n<li>Promotion_effective_dates: date and time of the promotion<\/li>\n<li>Redemption_channel: indicates if the promotion is applicable online or instore<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>See Bing Ads&#8217; documentation for <a href=\"https:\/\/help.bingads.microsoft.com\/#apex\/3\/en\/56806\/1\">more details on the required field specifications<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> If you do upload merchant promos with a feed, there are a couple things to keep in mind:<\/p>\n<p>The file has to match the file name specified for the catalog\u2019s settings. Additionally, the file will need to start with Promotions_*. You must include \u201cEntire Store\u201d in your title for the ad to be approved if the promotion applies to all products. If this is not included, your ads will not show up.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16783\" src=\"https:\/\/rocketclicks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/entire-store.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"84\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rocketclicks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/entire-store.jpg 563w, https:\/\/rocketclicks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/entire-store-300x45.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 563px) 100vw, 563px\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Your promotion&#8217;s start and end dates and times<\/li>\n<li>If you have a generic promo code such as \u201cMYYEAR\u201d as shown above, you would enter it<\/li>\n<li>Product Applicability &#8211; Here you have the option to select either all products in your shopping feed OR specific products\n<ul>\n<li><strong>TIP<\/strong>: To use the promotion for specific products in your feed you will need to include the Promotion ID under the promotion_id column in your feed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Minimum Purchase Amount<\/li>\n<li>SAVE!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You\u2019ve just created your first Bing Merchant Promo!<\/p>\n<h2>Best Practices<\/h2>\n<p>One last thing to note is the timing of creation.<\/p>\n<p>You want to create your Merchant Promos early enough so that you have time for them to be approved. Approval typically takes up to 24 hours, so make sure to set them up as far in advance as you can. I recommend at least 2-3 days earlier. If you end up having them disapproved for whatever reason, you\u2019ll need to edit them and request approval, which could take time.
